My laptop adapter is broken, and therefore I have no computer to use at home. So, today at work I'm attempting to get caught up on all of your journals...but, I'm not sure how far I'll get. If anything big has happened since the begining of May, would you be kind enough to leave a comment or just link me to the entry? That would be lovely. I'm going to try to read everything though.
I have lots of dating stories to share. Since the Isaiah thing started to fizzle, I decided I needed to get out more...date around a bit...and I started up the internet thing again. I have plans with like 4 different guys in the next week. Haha.
But, I'll share those stories later...now it's back to work/reading journals.

Warning- LONG post about my weekend ahead! =)
Friday morning I woke up at 6:00 and showered. After getting dressed and updating my iPod, I packed. After that I did my mom's HW. Yes, I was supposed to do this all the night before. No, I didn't do any of the things on my list. Oops. Also, for any of you who wonder about me doing my mother's HW...well, she's back in school at night and she's super busy. Plus, she's not the best writer. Basically, if she ever has writing homework, I do it for her. Anyway, that was off topic. LOL.
I went over to my Dad's at 9 and finally gave him my gift. He totally thought that it was all art/photos I bought at a gallery! Which boosted my ego. haha. Not that he really knows anything about art/photography. But, still... So I told him I did them all, and he seemed impressed. Anyway, we headed out to Wonderland. I got on the train and made it into South Station in like 45 minutes. I forgot how awful the trains in Boston are during rush hour. Ick.
I managed to get on a 1030am Fung Wah bus. It wasn't crowded and I got my own seat. It was great. I read a bit. I also tried to write in my journal, but the bus was so shaky that I gave up. I looked through my NYC Flash maps book just to make sure I knew how to get to Meghan's new apartment. After that I slept for the last two hours of the ride. All in all, it was the quickest and most comfortable Chinatown bus ride I've ever had.
I stepped off of the bus onto the lovely Canal St. in Chinatown at 230PM. (I'm sorry, but Chinatown REALLY overwhelms me. It's always crazy busy, and there's just SO much going on). After, a fight with the metro card machine and a little bit of disorientation after exiting the subway, I found Meghan's apartment. Yay! I picked up the keys from the Laundromat next door, and enjoyed a moment of bliss in her apartment after I put down my heavy bags (*sigh*).
I packed up my pocketbook and headed off in search of food. I was sorely disappointed to find nothing exciting on 3rd ave in Gramercy. I really prefer Meghan's old neighborhood (East Village). Oh well, at least her new place is bigger. I ended up at some burger place (I can't remember the name) because I was about to gnaw my arm off and couldn't walk anymore. There fries were amazing and I wish I could remember the name. I want to say they were at like 26 and 3rd?
After food I hopped on the 6 and headed uptown to The Met. The Met was nice. It's ENORMOUS. I spent nearly 2 hours, and would have stayed longer (I missed A LOT) but I fell down some stairs. =P Such a klutz. I twisted my ankle. It was so embarrassing. Haha. I tried walking around but my ankle was really begging me. I was afraid I might have really injured it. I decided to head back to the apartment.
I made it back to Meghan's apartment at around 7pm, and took a good look at my ankle. It wasn't swollen at all, so I was pretty sure it would be fine. I updated my paper journal and read through some of my flist. At about 745pm Meghan called to say she could actually get out of work early. She asked if I wanted dinner and I said sure. I decided at this point that I should give Jen
so_severus a call, because she had been super nice and offered to hang out with me if I was bored. She wasn't feeling so great and I was a bit worried about getting from the Upper West Side back to Gramercy late at night so we opted not to get together. But, it was awesome for her to invite me.
Meghan grabbed a cab from work and they picked me up on 21st and 2nd. We head down to the East Village for Mexican Food. Once again, I can't remember the name of the place. But, the burrito I had was yummy, as was my peach margarita. After that we went to Bar On A and had a martini and a beer. While we were out Meghan's boyfriend Corey called. It turns out that Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers (one of me and Corey's favorite bands) is playing at BB Kings next Saturday (4/28)! He wanted to A. check that Meghan wouldn't mind him visiting, and B. see if we wanted to go. OF course!!!! So, apparently, I will be BACK in NYC nest weekend. Haha. Anyway, we called it an early night because she's working ridiculous hours and needed sleep.
Saturday she went to work at about 11, and I headed out at about 12. I wanted to spend quality time with my camera (not even my digital, but my 35mm Nikon SLR) I walked a few blocks uptown, and got some nice shots of the Chrysler. Then I hopped on the 6 train and took it to like 51st (? is that a stop, I think that was where I went to) I walked for a bit, and found some food. Then I went into Central Park. I started from the lower east side, and made my way through most of it up until like 88th St. I took four rolls of pictures. Central Park is gorgeous. The weather was lovely. It was such a great day. It felt so great to go out and get exercise and to take pictures. I never take my SLR out anymore because it's SO big. But, I love it. I really do.
At about 330pm Meghan was finishing up with work, so I got back on the 6 and met her at the Bestbuy on 45th and 5th. We walked down to Bryant Park and had ice cream. After ice cream we headed back to the apt to freshen up. Then we trekked up to the Upper East Side to meet her friend Lauren for dinner. We ate at an Italian restaurant in Yorkville. I think it was called Tony's? It was family style, so you ordered plates for 2-3 people. We ate on the patio outside. It was SO GOOD. I definitely felt like I was on vacation. Then we had drinks. We were home and in bed by 1230. Poor Meghan has been so crazy. She's exhausted. Yesterday we got up and went to the West Village, walked around a bit and had breakfast. She headed to work and I headed out to catch a bus. I was on a 1oclock bus, but didn't get back to my house until nearly 8pm. Traveling hell.
Oh wells.
It was a good weekend. The weather really was amazing. I can't believe I'm going to brave the bus AGAIN this weekend. LOL. I still have money left on my metro card though. And I left pajamas and close I didn't wear behind, so next weekend (depending on weather) I'll likely head in with just the cloths on my back and a pocketbook. That's awesome. It makes it so much easier and much more comfortable to travel.
Today is absolutely GORGEOUS out. Seriously. All of the bitchy patients in the world couldn't bring me down from my weather induced high. I'm wearing tank top/skirt/and sandals. That's my favorite thing to wear. I'm so happy! =) I'm going for a walk around some of Salem with my camera. When I get home, I'll take Sheba out (I promised her). If she's not limping, we'll take a walk, if she is, we'll hang out in the back yard. I also have a paper to on work on for my mom. Plus, I really need to get caught up on LJ comms and my Flist, and I STILL need to finish my new user info. We'll see what I actually manage to get done.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend.
BTW.... it’s taken me allllll day to write this. It's so busy...an yet, I'm still in an OK mood. I definitely suffered from a weather-related mood disorder. =P

Last night sucked. A LOT. I was driving home, and my dad's car started shaking pretty badly. I thought it had to do with the noise I had had the other day. I tried calling him, and my phone was turned off. So, then I called Sprint to make a payment (I was late). So, here I am, driving like 20, car shaking, and no phone to use. I wanted to pull over, but was on a very busy multi-lane road, no one would let me get over, and besides, I didn't even have a phone to use. Ugh. So I call and make a payment, I get to the part where I'm supposed to give verbal confirmation, and some jerk cuts me of. So, Sprint ends up with a verbal confirmation of "F*CKING ASSHOLES!!!!". Heh.
I continue on my way home, and get all the way to the 7-11 two blocks from my house. As I'm getting out of the car (I had scratch tickets to cash in) my dad calls. Good! My phone's back on. I tell him about the car, then I walk around to the passengers side of the car...and the back passenger tire is COMPLETELY FLAT. And I had just driven a good 4 miles on it. Nice. Wonderful. I tell my dad I'll need to call him back. I go in and cash the tickets and explain to the clerk that I am not abandoning the car but need to run home to get my AAA card.
I go home, pee, get my card, have a shouting match with my dad. My mom comes back to 7-11 with me and we wait an hour and a half for AAA. The tire? Ruined. GREAT. Just freaking great. During this time I go to make a call on my phone and it's off again. I assume that someone reviewed my confirmation and "F*CKING ASSHOLES" wasn't acceptable, so I call and start over. Today I check my account. I definitely had two Sprint Payments come out. WONDERFUL!!!!
Umm yeah. So all of this makes me want to go away more than ever. Although now it would be smarter NOT to go. Because, last night's fiascoes are going to end up costing me like 175. Greeeeeaaat. But, I need to get away. So, off to New York I go. I have a lot to do tonight, though, because tomorrow is coming FAST.
Things to do tonight:
1. LAUNDRY
2. Update my iPod playlist.
3. Charge my iPod.
4. Clean up my room.
5. Get kitty food/instructions for feeding ready for my mom.
6. Bank run.
7. Pack.
8. Get caught up on TV for the week.
9. Write a get to know me post and a poll for aim names and such.
10. Charge phone.
11. If I have time, work on user info.
12. Get caught up on comment replies and Flist.
In morning:
1. Get up at 730.
2. Shower, pack last minute items.
3. Do a weather check.
4. Get dressed.
5. Run to the bank if needed.
6. Go to my dad's.
7. Give him is gift.
8. Grab NYC guide book from Christa's bookshelf.
9. 900am head to T-Station.
I just got pretty good news. I have a hood for my car. Yay. My car should be fixed within a week. Thank God.

1. I post the answers to my TV meme
2. Went to the Harry and the Potters show in Cambridge last night with Lauren. It was a good time. I wore my radish ear rings. =) I also bought a T-Shirt and two CDs. Oops.
3. Yesterday sucked really badly, as you guys may have figured out by my "letters" in the last entry. HATP, my friend Lauren, and Blake's performance on AI, managed to redeem the day, but just barely. =( Today is marginally better.
4. I've barely made a dent in my to-do list from the other day. Oh well.
5. I was supposed to be going to visit my friend Meghan in NYC this Friday and staying until Sunday afternoon. She emailed the other day to say that they are working on a huge project right now (she's a paralegal for a large firm) and are doing mandatory Saturday and Sunday work, so it wouldn't be a good weekend for her. I was very disappointed at first. Then, I wrote back and asked her if I could maybe still come for Saturday to just do some sight-seeing and what not on my own, and use her couch for the night. She said yes. So the plan is she'll leave her spare keys with the laundromat next door, and I can pick them up when I come in on Friday afternoon. Then I can come and go as a I please. Now, I'm not sure though. I love doing things on my own...and I LOVE NY. I also wanted to get away. But, there are tons of things I could be doing around here, and it would save me money not to go. So, I need you guys to help me decide what to do. hehe. Here's a poll:

If you voted for going to New York (or even if you didn't) do you have any ideas for things to do? Assuming that the weather is supposed to be better (it is supposed to be, we'll see) I'll probably just wander around for a while one day playing amateur photographer. I also thought that being elsewhere and getting a change in perspective might help my writer's block a bit and maybe I could get some writing done. As far as touristy things, I still haven't been to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, so would like to go there. Also, the giant geek in me wants to go to the New York Public Library. I think that going to a place with that many of books might be like going to the spa but for my soul. Haha. Any ideas, suggestions?

First of all....FINALLY bought the new Buffy comic. LOVED it. The beginning and the end were the best, because I finally got to see two of my most loved and missed characters! Sigh. Too bad it takes me like 5 minutes to read a comic. I need more...NOW.
Went to Big Lots and returned the frames I had bought for my father. While I was there I got 6 scrap-booking paper packs 3 sticker sheets and three page embossers. I spent 14.00. That's SO cheap. I love Big Lots. Next I went to the Dollar Tree where I got 5 more paper packs and 6 sticker packs, spending an additional 15.00. If anyone on my Flist scrapbooks, you know that 11 packs of paper, 9 sticker sheets and 3 page embossers for 30.00 is a steal. The only problem is, now I want to scrapbook, but I'm out of actual pages! So, I'll be hitting up creativememories.com to buy more pages soon. Oop.
After The Dollar Tree, I went into A.C. Moore. I bought frames and mats. I plan to make my dad framed "Amanda Burke Originals". Ha Ha. He's very sentimental and has always loved my photography/writing. So, it's a cheap and good gift for him. I just need to touch up/size the photos I plan to use in PSP. Then I print and frame them. His gift will only be a week late. Not TOO bad. While I was in big lots I picked up two TShirts (one black, one lilac) and fabric paint. I'm going to make a Quibbler TShirt (for a more casual Luna Outfit) and a Weird Sisters Shirt, for a Tonks costume. This will mean that between all of the HP events, when I'm done gathering all of my costume stuff, I will be able to make 4 different costume variants: casual luna, school luna, random ravenclaw student, and tonks. Not too bad.
Next I went to Newbury Comics. I went in after two things: Buffy 2 comic and the new Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers Shirt. I came out with the comic two pairs of knee high striped socks (for Luna costumes) and Pocky Sticks (YUM). Sadly, they didn't have the CD =(.
My last stop for the day was Borders. I went in just to reserve Deathly Hallows (I'm not planning to buy it there, but I wanted a sticker! =) I've also been wanting a nice paper journal (one of the refillable ones) but they are usually leather and cost close to 40.00. Well, I was browsing and found a nice cloth one with space for a check book, cash, and cards. It was only 15, so I bought it and a new pen. The cashier gave me two of each sticker, because she's a big fan too. I really wanted a Trust Snape one, but I kinda wanted one of each just because I'm trying to document all of this stuff. (It feels like we're part of history a bit, doesn't it? Or am I just super-lame?).
All in all I spent WAY too much money. Oh well. I love the journal I already wrote in it. I've named it Severus. I write my entries Dear Severus. Lol. I did this mostly because I put two of the stickers in the inside cover. Besides, I write my entries kind of like a letter, and I think this will help my creativity/imagination as a writer. I've taken pictures of the journal for you guys, but I'm too lazy to upload right now.
I've added/updated my to-do list and this is now for the rest of today and tomorrow (this is more for myself than anything, but read if you like).
Moved my to-do list over to here:
1.Take a shower soon. one down
2. Get to the bank before they close.
3. Run to big lots to make return, then find something else for my dad's bday gift (it was last wednesday!) I did that and then some.
4. Finish cleaning up my room.
5. Write. Got 3 pages out. Not too bad.
6. Maybe squeeze in the gym?? not going to happen.
7. Finish my user-info make over.
8. Continue operation organize my photobucket account.
9. Make some sort of get to know me post for all the new friends.
10. Put up a poll for aim info and stuff.11.
11. Organize scrap-booking supplies.
12. Finish The Five People You Meet in Heaven.
13. Put together Dad's Gift.
14. Make T-Shirts.
15.Read Buffy Comic.
16. Work on Mom's portfolio project.
P.S. In case any of you hadn't noticed, HP really is taking over the world. While I was in Borders I walked past two people talking about Harry and the Potters.

There's a friending meme going on:
FRIENDING MEME You should all go participate.
I didn't get to see my bus-driver on Friday. =( I was at the bus stop when the girl I work with drove by and PULLED OVER to give me a ride!!!! Argh. Oh wells. Maybe tomorrow?
My sister stayed here last night. For those of you who don't know, my sister lives with my dad when she's not at school. I did for a while too, until the combo of my sister and my dad drove me away. ummm. There's a spare room next to mine that my mom has been insisting will be my sister's, but my sister hasn't stayed in this house at all since my mom bought it two years ago. So I keep trying to get my mom to: a. let me use the room so I can take a bunch of crap out of my dad's place. or b. rent it out to help us with our craptastic financial situation. Ugh. Well, we finally moved a bed and TV in there a couple of weeks ago, but we still need shades and curtains and whatnot. Well, Christa decided to stay at the last minute last night. So, when mom and I got home at 1145!!! We had to make up the bed, clean out and move my cat's litter box, find stuff to cover the windows, and call direct tv for them to send info to her reciever. All while my sister was in the living room watching tv with her boyfriend. Did either of them ever offer to help? Of course not. Ugh.
Yesterday was fairly uneventful otherwise. Mom, Nana, and I went to the bank and to Home Depot where we bought some stuff we needed for the yard. Mom and I came home and raked, and then figured out how to add brake fluid to her car. Seriously, who needs a man around? haha. She went out to dinner with Michelle, and I hung around the house downloading resources for my new iconing hobby. At about 9, mom, Michelle, and I went to Barnes & Noble. I bought two reference type books one on character traits, and one for vocabulary development. After that we went to Friendly's for ice cream sundays...yum. (so not on the diet! oh well!!!) Then we came home and had to set up Christa's room.
I was on the phone with Lauren last night and she told me that Harry and the Potter's are playing Tuesday and that she was going to get us tickets but wanted to check with me first. I have the greatest friends ever. Seriously. I was like, are you sure YOU'D want to go?? She's an HP fan, but not quite like me and most of you. She's a casual fan. So, yeah, Harry and the Potters Tuesday! Should be fun. I don't really have any of my costumey stuff yet...I'll wear my radish earrings. That will be fun.
Agenda for today:
1.Take a shower soon. one down
2. Get to the bank before they close.
3. Run to big lots to make return, then find something else for my dad's bday gift (it was last wednesday!)
4. Finish cleaning up my room.

It's been a few days since I did a real post. I said I was going to start posting daily. Oh wells. I haven't seen the bus driver since Monday. =( But, I am busing it home tonight! Never thought I'd be even remotely happy about that. Now, I just need to hope and pray that Melanie from work doesn't offer me a ride. Because, I don't want to be pathetic and tell her no because I want to flirt with the cute MBTA guy! =P So, if she offers, I'll probably say yes.
Date night on Tuesday was good. We (Meaghan, Lauren, and I) went to The Border Cafe and had quasadillas and frozen Sangria. Then we went to the movies and saw Premonition. It was...unsettling? I don't really know how to explain it. It wasn't bad, but I'm not sure how I liked it. I think my recommendation would be: If you really wanted to see it, still go. If you only kinda wanted to see it, wait for the DVD. If you didn't want to see it, then don't because seeing it might not change your mind. Anyway, the movie creeped us all out (and it takes a lot for me to get thoroughly creeped out) and I had a hard time sleeping. I don't know WHY it creeped me out so badly. Just something about it was weird. I think it was mostly camera angles and lighting stuff.
I've been having WEIRD dreams. There's this guy Timmy (my friend Meaghan's cousin) who hangs out with us sometimes. He's young (only 19) so he only hangs out with us if we are at someone's house. A couple of weeks ago, he made a cameo appearance in two of my dreams. Odd, but no big deal. Last night he freaking STARRED in one of my dreams. As in, potential love interest starred. I don't remember a lot of it. It started with us hanging out in line for a concert. We were on the side walk with a blanket spread out. It reminded me of the time Colleen and I camped out for Hanson. Anyway, we were laying around talking. He invited me to his Sr. Prom. LOL. Extremely funny because: a. He's not in high school anymore. b. I've been out of high school for SIX years. Then we were in the kitchen at my old house (Florence St, for my RL friends) and making dinner with my dad. The whole thing was very weird. I don't know where the hell it came from. Seriously. I definitely don't have any sort of feelings for Timmy. BIZARRE. Lauren and Kate, if you are reading this...you are SWORN to secrecy! Do you hear me???? I absolutely do not need this getting out to Meaghan or Molly, they would torment me. =P
OMG I just remembered something else about the dream! Timmy wasn't just Timmy....he was Dan Radcliffe too! Now it makes more sense. Although, it also makes me more of a pedofile. haha. It was one of those dreams where the person you are with is supposed to be one person but keeps changing. You know what I mean??? Well, he kept looking like Dan. I remember. I feel a little better now.
Yeah, that's it for now. No big plans for the weekend yet. I might just lay low because next weekend I should be in Manhattan visiting Meghan. Woot! So excited. I love NYC. I love Meghan too, of course. heh.

1."Batshit" Bellatrix LeStrange vs. Narcissa "Not a Sissy" Malfoy
Bellatrix; as many others have said, I see Narcissa being a hair-puller. Maybe we're selling her short but unless she was fighting for Draco, I don't see her being nearly as brutal as Bella.
2. Remus "Moony" Lupin vs. Fenrir "Will Eat Your Children" Greyback
Remus all the way. He's powerful AND smart. Plus he has a grudge. He'd definitely be out for vengeance in this one.
3. Gilderoy "Blonde Ambition" Lockhart vs Ludo "The Wasp" Bagman This would be hysterical. Ludo. Gilderoy is funny, but definitely a pansy. He'd probably runaway or take breaks to fix his hair.
4. Severus "Don't Call me Snivellus" Snape vs "Seriously" Sirius Black This is tough, but I'd have to say Snape. I think they are both very strong. In this fight though Snape would have an edge for two reasons: 1. He would utilize dark magic that Sirius wouldn't even think of using. 2. His hatred for Sirius and need for revenge is much stronger that Sirius's hatred for him. I think so at least.
5. Neville "Stubefy" Longbottom vs Peter "Pathetically Pitiful" Pettigrew
Neville. Peter is a dimwitted coward. Neville may be bumbling and clumsy but he has courage and he definitely isn't stupid.

Seriously guys.... Amanda+Her Evening Bus Driver=OTP
Haha. Before I tell you guys the story: aren't you impressed? This makes TWO -count them- TWO updates in one day! That doesn't even include the icon post. Impressive huh? Or perhaps annoying. If it's annoying, please forgive me. =)
Anyway, on to the good stuff. I recently helped get my evening bus driver fired. He was an ASS. So, a bunch of other MBTA riders and I pulled together and complained every time he did something wrong, and then one day he was gone. I suppose he may have quit, but I prefer to think that "the people" were heard. haha. My new bus driver is a cutie, and I have been trying to talk to him since he came on. The problem is, I don't take the bus at night all that often anymore, or when I do, I don't go at that time because I go to the gym. So, there hasn't been much opportunity for flirting.
Tonight I got on the bus with POA in hand (omg I fell so far behind in read_hp!!!) and I went to go take a seat when he asked me which HP book I was reading. Cute or not, could I pass up the chance to talk Harry Potter?!?! Of course not. So I stood. I hate standing especially near the front, because people get on and off and have to push past me and omg it's annoying! But, I did, because he was a potential HP fan, AND cute, so really did I have any other choice? Tell me what would you have done? Yeah, that's what I thought.
Well, it turns out that sadly, he hasn't read each book 55 times, and he doesn't know the date of Cedric Diggory's death, or the Potters' death, or even Ron's middle name...But, he's still cute, and he still talked to me about it, and didn't even get scared of me when I went into obsessive mode. Apparently, he's not a big reader and he read the first 2 and liked them, but he doesn't have a good attention span for books. He does enjoy the movies, and really loves the story, but never finished reading. I'm thinking that I will offer to send him the audiobooks on line next time I see him. Sneaky way to get his contact info, no?
We talked about other stuff too. Work, diet stuff (strange, but he started it). It was cool. If only he knew that while he was talking about how he really wants to start eating healthier but doesn't have time and doesn't know what to buy at the grocery store that I was thinking about our future with me making his lunches for him. LOL. Pathetic huh?
So, yeah. New crush! I love how in my post earlier I was bitching about the bus, and now I'm wishing it wasn't Tuesday because I usually have a ride home on Wednesday and Thursday and I really want to talk to him more. It's weird. I've only talked to him a few times, and he's not my ideal type. But, you can just tell that he's a sweetheart. He's wicked laid back, and maybe not as book smart as I normally like, but definitely common sense and street smart.
I know I'm a loser. I shouldn't get this excited over a simple conversation! Knowing my luck he has a girlfriend. It's just SO hard to meet people. Ya know?
Anyway, mission for next time: find out if he has a girlfriend, and get or give some kind of contact info.
Yup, I'm officially smitten.
Off on my dinner and a movie date with my girlies now. Have a nice night FList. *Hugs to all*

SOOOO.... So much for my "I want to start posting everyday" huh? And I have HAD something to post everyday too! But, do I? Oh no, I wait until there's too much to write, and I can't remember half of it! Ugh.
Anyway.
1. I am so sick of not having a car. I'm also sick of it still being WINTER here when it is SUPPOSED TO BE SPRING. A big F*ck you to Mother Nature. My back has been really killing me these past 2 weeks. I really need a new bed. Friday, it was bugging me a lot, and the bag I brought to work was very heavy. I took the bus from work to where it drops me about a mile from my house. At this point, I could wait 15 minutes for the next bus or take about 15 walking. Usually I walk, but because of my back and the bag, I decided to wait. It was pretty chilly out, but I didn't think it would be too cold for 15 minutes. Yeah, well 15 turned into an 1 1/5 because the bus never freaking showed up! After almost and hour of waiting, I was painfully cold. It was like 27 degrees, and I had sort sleeves under my coats and didn't have a scarf hat or gloves. My entire body was numb and My ears and feet kept getting painful pangs. My sister had to come rescue me. I hate my life sometimes. Ugh.
2. Saturday I slept until 12. It was nice, I haven't slept that late in a while. I stayed in bed until 1 messing around on youtube. Lovely. After I finally got out of bed, I did some stuff around the house. Then I headed out for Greek food with my mom and my sister at about 4. Yum. We just got a bunch of stuff to share. We had: gyro, lakoniko, spanakopita, tzaziki (sp?), hummos, pita, chicken, and moussaka pizza. We ALMOST got dessert, but then decided not to.
By the time we were done it was 530 and I was supposed to be in Cambridge for my first Harry Potter Meetup at 6!!!! Yikes. Christa (my sister) got me to a train in record time. I texted the group leader Luba and let her know I was running about ten minutes late. I ended up walking into the Harvard Coop (big book store in Harvard Square) at 622. Oops. It was my first time meeting up with them. There were just 5 of us (a lot of people had religious obligations). They were cool people though. We were discussing Snape's loyalties. We all agree he's good. It was great though, I got to discuss fanfiction and shipping with people! I've never had anyone in RL to do that with. It was awesome. In the group was a die-hard H/D shipper. We took the train back together and discussed our love for the boys. Also, the girl who runs it, Luba, is a Hr/S girl. Yay! So we talked about fave fics and whatnot.
The best part? I was wondering why were were meeting in the employee training room of this bookshop. I figured someone worked there or knew someone who did. Nope. Turns out that the manager of The Coop is planning what will probably be the biggest book release party in Boston (she already has Harry and the Potters booked to do Harvard Square!), but she's never held one before. She wants our help! I love planning parties, anyway, so that fact that I can be involved in the book release party is wicked exciting. I can't wait until next month's meeting.
3. Thursday (?) I got my hoop skirt in the mail. It's interesting. It's a two hoop one --supposed to be small-- but still much bigger than I expected. The cat thinks that it and the dress are toys. Haha. I had to lock them away. The dress does look better with it. I still need to have the dress pressed and get a bra that works better under it. But, I think I'll actually wear it. Which is good. At least I didn't waste my money (even if it was relatively inexpensive).
4. I think that's all. I'll probably think of other stuff later. But I have a dinner and movie date with the girls and most likely won't be near the keyboard at all tonight. Ahh well. Hope everyone who celebrates had a good Easter or Passover.
Anyway.

I spent like 3 hours last night organizing my photo bucket account and uploading photos off of my computer...and now my layout pictures and user info graphics are all gone! But, they are still IN my photobucket account, just different folders! ick. Oh well. My myspace is now messed up too. Ugh. I need to fix it all now. I've wanted to change my LJ layout anyway, so I guess this will be a good time to do that.
My back is killing me.... I think it's time for a bed. I've been using a futon for the past two years, and it started out really comfortable...but it's just not anymore. Ugh.
I have to do my mom's homework. It's for her portfolio class. I need to put together a 3 page excel document with a page for job-finding resources, a page of networking contacts, and a page of jobs she is applying for. This is so dumb, because she already HAS a job, and a career path, and she's not even APPLYING for anything. Also, I need to write a couple of paragraphs "selling" her. It's due at midnight, and I've know about it for 3 days, and I am supposed to go out tonight. Basically, instead of updating LJ and playing with photobucket right now I should be doing that (or maybe even my job...lol). Oh fun.
Just in case any of you were considering it: Do not see The Last Mimzy, at least not in the theater. It was pretty ridiculous. I was disappointed. I felt like it was 3am on a night I couldn't sleep and I was watching cheesy movies on Sci-Fi.
Alright, I'm off to do Mom's HW!

~Today and yesterday = the never-ending days from hell.
Seriously. NEVER. ENDING.
It will get better though. I'm meeting my girls at Panera at 6 for dinner and then going to see The Last Mimzy- yay! I really want to see it.
~I also REALLY want to see Bridge to Terebithia, I listened to the book on my iPod last week. I forgot how much I ADORED that book. As a kid I read it at least 5 times, but I could only vaguely remember it. Now I want to see the movie, because I have a feeling they may have changed a lot of it, but I'm hoping the heart of the story is still there. I used to love Katherine Patterson's books; I want to reread all of her stuff now. (Like that will happen any time soon! Add it to the list!)
~I finally heard back from my Prophecy roommate. She was just busy, and I am paranoid. Haha. So, apparently I am not homeless for a week in Toronto.
~Speaking of Prophecy: I got my dress last week. I am slightly disappointed, but there are: a few things to keep in mind:
1. I tried it on very briefly at like 1am, so I didn't even have it done up correctly.
2. It had just been taken out of a box and was very wrinkled; it needs to be pressed.
3. In the picture it was over a hoopskirt, I don't have one yet, so of course it isn't going to look the same.
4. I wasn't wearing a bra.
5. I'm losing weight, and it won't fit the way I want it to quite yet.
So yeah, the dress has potential. I ordered a hoopskirt on eBay (got a great deal!). I'm just waiting on that and then I need to iron or bring it to the dry cleaner to be pressed, hopefully I like it better after it's tried on properly...If not I'll put it back up for sale and plan on wearing my bridesmaid dress from my friend Colleen's wedding instead. I'll post pictures after I have the hoop skirt and whatnot.
~I also received my radish earrings in the mail from
chic_urbanity. They came out awesome! I love them. I took pictures, but haven't uploaded them yet. I'll post them soon.
~Now I'm just waiting for my tie, robes, and scarf to come in. I don't have much to get after that. I'm excited. I've basically finished buying my costume stuff, and I still have plenty of my tax money left to pay for my car to be fixed (if we EVER find a hood for it). Not too shabby. I still would love a part time job though! But, that sort of hinges on the car thing, unless I can find something close to work or home. Blah.
~I'm planning on chopping my hair again soon. I think I'm going to go even shorter this time. Yikes. I'm in search of good short to super-short haircut pictures. Spam me if by chance you can think of something.
~While rereading HP I'm finally really seeing how good Harry and Ginny could be. It's not that I've ever really been against them, but H/D is my OTP, and H/G just never really got my attention much. Anyway, any H/G shippers on my flist have fanfic recs???
~I'm breaking out; I have the monster zit of doom on my chin. * Cries! *
~I know I have more to write about! I really need to start posting daily or at least every other day.... instead of trying to put everything in one monster post once a week. It doesn't work too well. I think my daily post could be nearly this long. I definitely think of more than this to say on a daily basis. So, tomorrow night, if I haven't posted yet...somebody nudge me? I really like journaling on here and want to work on making it a habit.
~All right, I’m going to go write up my thoughts for last night’s read_hp assignment. It's almost time to get out of this place. Weee!
~Oh I almost forgot...it's APRIL and it is SNOWING out!!!! F*ckin New England! Mother Nature and I need to have words.
Seriously. NEVER. ENDING.

~Did anyone on my FList watch any of "GREASE: You're The One That I Want!"? I didn't watch the entire show, but I've been catching bits of it while hanging around the house with my mom on Sunday nights. I realllllly wanted the winners to be Austin and Laura. I think they have WAY more chemistry than Max and Laura. Oh well. My mom and I still want to go see it on Broadway. Yeah right, like that will happen. =/
~I'm not sure who on my FList knows but I have been working on a YA Fantasy-ish novel that -if it ever got published- would hopefully be the start of a series. Anyway, i have been extremely stuck for the past few months. This morning I was out at the bus stop and the heroine of my story and her boyfriend were arguing in my head (maybe I can write a story about my apparent schizophrenia? lol jk). That's all they do lately is argue. I can't get them to move forward with the story. Anyway, today at the bus stop I actually told them to shut up. Out loud. In public. I think people near me thought I was mental. Maybe I am.
~I lost 7 lbs! How awesome is that? I'm excited. Hopefully I can keep it up. I joined the small women's gym across the street from work. I was already a member there once a few years ago and loved it (it's really nice). I already have a gym membership right now (it's dirt cheap) but it's far away and I hardly ever went there. Now, without a car I haven't been there since October. Waste of money. So, I need to call and cancel. The new gym is kind of expensive, but it will be worth it for me to be healthier. I went yesterday and did weight training, 30 minutes on a bike, and 20 minutes on a treadmill (walking/jogging). Today I'm that wonderful sore/tired you get after a good workout. It feels great.
~I stayed up entirely too late last night watching the Hanson Documentary. For any of the Hanson fans on my FList that are dopes like me, apparently the long-awaited (at least for me) Strong Enough to Break documentary has been available on iTunes in a 13 part video pod cast for a while now. I found this out last night a little after 10, and didn't get to sleep until like 100. Ooops. I can't wait for the new CD. Colleen and I are already in agreement that if they tour near here we are going.
~It looks like basically every show I watch (with the exception of Grey's, GH, and Idol) is in potential trouble for next season. *cries*.
I know I have lots more to say, but I really should get back to work. Hopefully I can make it back on to write more tonight.
